For the purposes of Title 40, chapter 15, 45-5-231 to 45-5-234, 46-6-311 and this division, (a) «family members» means mothers, fathers, children, brothers, sisters and other former or present members of a household; These relationships include relationships formed by adoption and remarriage, including stepchildren, stepparents, stepparents, and adopted children and parents. These relationships exist regardless of the age of the parties and whether or not the parties live in the same household. «Victim of family violence» means a protected person under this Act, including any person 18 years of age or older, or an emancipated minor who has been a victim of domestic violence by a spouse, former spouse or other person who is a current or former member of the household. The «victim of domestic violence» also includes any person, regardless of age, who has been a victim of domestic violence by a person with whom the victim has a child or with whom the victim hopes to have a common child if one of the parties is pregnant. A «victim of domestic violence» also includes anyone who has been a victim of domestic violence by someone with whom the victim has had a relationship. e. «Emancipated minor» means a person under 18 years of age but married, entering the army, a child or pregnant, or who has already been declared emancipated by a court or administrative authority. 1. (7) `intimate partner violence` means an offence punishable as a criminal offence committed or threatened by an offender against a person: (A) to whom the offender is or has been married; (b) with whom the offender lives or has been in a civil partnership; or (C) with whom the abuser is or has had a romantic, extroverted or sexual relationship. (8) «offence within a family» means interpersonal violence, spousal violence or intra-family violence. (9) `intimate domestic violence` means an offence punishable as a criminal offence committed or threatened to be committed by an offender against a person with whom the offender is related by blood, adoption, custody, marriage or partnership, or with whom the offender has a child together;.
